Unfortunately, this tour has been cancelled for 2021. We will be running this again in 2022.

Come and join us for 7-days and experience life as a JAFFA!

We leave the hustle and bustle of New Zealand’s biggest city behind as we explore the hidden gems that Auckland has on offer. Enjoy a majestic day on Waiheke Island, discover the rustic West Coast and Auckland’s Northern Beaches, a day trip to Mansion House on the sparkling Kawau Island and finally, soak up the history and scenery at Mahurangi Peninsula.

Itinerary  |  2022 dates TBA
  • DAY 1. Takapuna

Our first 3-nights are spent staying at the Spencer on Byron. Set in the heart of Takapuna and one of Auckland’s most popular north shore beach centres - there’s plenty of stores, cafés and beach activities to check out. After our arrival here, we head out for Chelsea Sugar Works – be educated and inspired with a fully immersive tour through the Chelsea Sugar factory, where you’ll learn about how sugar is made, taste the delicious syrups and see the wondrous sugar mountain.

    Dinner

  • DAY 2. Waiheke Island

This morning we embark on a 30min ferry ride across the Waitemata Harbour to beautiful Waiheke Island. Here, we spend the day exploring the island. Experience an olive grove and making of their products, wander through the township of Oneroa, visit a vineyard, enjoy lunch at a vineyard and a walk on Onetangi Beach. Tonight, we dine in-house.

    Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  • DAY 3. West Auckland

After breakfast we head west to the famous Muriwai gannet colony on the coast – one of the best places in the world to visit the large seabirds. Afterwards, we’ll stop for lunch at a local café and pop down to Devonport for a mid-afternoon stroll around the village. Dinner tonight is at a local restaurant.

    Breakfast, Dinner

  • DAY 4. Snells Beach

We say farewell to Takapuna and drive north through the East Coast Bays and onwards to Orewa. On our way, we stop at the Matakana Sculpturium for lunch a look around – this is a world class attraction featuring manicured gardens and artwork from around the world.

Our home for the next 3 nights will be in Matakana Village – bring your togs and enjoy the pool at the motel. We’ll eat at a local restaurant for dinner.

    Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

  • DAY 5. Kawau Island

Grab your sea legs today as we drive to Sandspit, board the ferry and explore Kawau Island – here, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at Mansion House Bay.  Tonight we dine at a local restaurant.

    Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  • DAY 6. Mahurangi Peninsular

Mahurangi Peninsular is waiting for us to explore today so we take a tiki tour out to Scotts Landing and the old homestead – a picturesque historic building that has been beautifully restored and is surrounded by water; the harbour on one side and Te Kapa River on the other. Save some of your vegetables from lunch as we finish the day with a visit to Highfield Garden Reserve – home to a friendly Donkey reserve! We eat out at a local restaurant for dinner tonight.

    Breakfast, Dinner

  • DAY 7. Homeward Bound

This morning we head back to Auckland where we say farewell to our new honorary JAFFA’s!

    Breakfast

Kawau is like nowhere else on earth, so many coves each with their own distinct flavour including Lady's Bay, Schoolhouse Bay, Dispute Cove, Miners Bay, Farmer Bay and Sunny Bay – who doesn't love those names?"
